USB 3.1 ...

<< I even use USB external drives for video rendering now, because the transfer rates are competitive with SATA internal drives. >>

... and some one of these days (months or year) USB 3.1 (gen 2,the REAL USB3.1) will be available on external drives and other devices, doubling the transfer rate. If I were a system builder (which I am not) my next motherboard would fully support USB 3.1 gen 2. The external devices will come (someday). At the moment confusion reigns.
