Hotmail user numbers are not realistic. I have about five different accounts with hotmail. So many spammers have hotmail addresses. I don't know how many real users are there for that service. Also, many users are ourside the US, who don't tend to buy the same services as US customers. So much for ad revenue. There is low barrier to entry in Hotmail kind of product. Hotmail was started by Sabeer Bhatia (Indian Immigrant), age 29. There main competitor is Whowhere, which offeres free email to Excite and Eudora. Whowhere is also started by Indian immigrants about 30 year old. I don't understand why bigger companies like Qualcomm and Microsoft cannot build there service from ground-up. Arun
