George, congrats on a very nice thread; I think you have some of the best contributors on SI posting here.

A question. Why is your Platinova West Greenland diamond play less "speculative" than Northern Alberta??

Alberta at least has diamondiferous kimberlite pipes. Greenland's kimberlitic dikes/sills (found to date) are not easy/economic to mine even with "good" infrastructure which Greenland doesn't have. No pipes have been identified in Greenland, yet (in spite of all that "expert" geophysical/geochemical/geological focus since 1995 when Quandrant Resource's first reported indicator-mineral trains in SW Greenland. Platinova does have a large land position, but so did NDT in Labrador. Recommend one be skeptical of "land-deals" companies <grin>.)

My own experience in Greenland (and in the Stillwater of Montana) suggests IMNSHO that one of your "Best of the Rest Diamond Stocks" (i.e., Platinova) could be just another very-well-hyped "paper-play".

Good Luck, T.

P.S. Time will tell, but I'm betting on Alberta rather than Greenland in '98. The geophysics is nailing pipes in AB (17 hits out of 17 mag-anomalies drilled); while in Greenland companies are still panning and trenching and drilling into iron formation. Preliminary AB grades of up to .36 carat/tonne to boot too. I'm puzzled why didn't an Alberta-play company make your "12 Best" List?? Too speculative <grin>???
