I hope we aren't whistling past a graveyard.

Rallies and soc media numbers reflect enthusiasm and emotions. Do they reflect the likely outcome of the election? Hopefully. But, I'm not aware if anyone ever studied this. We know that polls do, not always reliably.

Rallies are trivial. 10,000 people go along for some entertainment on a quiet day. A million people don't go. Voting is a private activity - the opposite of a rally. Polls give a better idea but even those are not private, so people will lie, say don't know, not be asked if they don't have a phone or block calls or otherwise are excluded from the poll.

The shy Trump supporter is going to be a big influence. The foaming at the mouth anti-Trumpeters will be making a lot of people keep their heads down in the interest of a quiet life without being attacked by LLL violent aggressive thugs. LLL modus operandi is demanding with menaces [a crime if regular people do it but governments are voted in to do just that which is how the Mafia works too].

Sensible men will NOT be telling their wives who they are going to vote for. "Yes Love, Hillary is certainly a wonderful example to our daughter, breaking a glass ceiling and wanting to drone people who get in her way. Melania Trump does look nice and is very civil, but we don't want her in the White House do we darling. We want Bill Clinton again with his old tricks - you can't teach an old dog new tricks eh Love! We want that old dog on the porch though he does keep going off the reservation."

Then in the quiet of the polling booth, he pulls for Trump. So do loads of Negroes. So do many women who didn't want to embarrass themselves at the Ladies morning tea where everyone was saying how awful Trump is - though they did wish their useless husbands had his ability to get big heaps of money.
