Paul,

total price to upgrade your motherboard $100 for an FIC PA1007 with the VIA chip set, and $245 for the AMD K-6 233.

K-6 233 MHz is now around $190. And it looks like it is widely available. If you follow:

pricewatch.com

the change was very dramatic over last month or so. It went from $300 and almost zero availability, to what it is now.

Joe

[Off-topic] Paul, I don't understand why I would want to spend $345 upgrading to a single AMD K-6 233, when I can upgrade to dual P200s for less than $300? Doesn't make sense. I already have the dual board, and in my case, I will gain as much benefit from the dual CPUs (because RT3 hogs the CPU and runs in a single thread) as from the faster speed.
