Snowshoe, I saw that about the discovery. But think about it for a second, if you are the oil companies getting outrageously low taxes because of sweetheart deals, wouldn't you want to claim that the reason you discovered that oil is because of the massive tax cuts (sweetheart deals) we gave them? I would be willing to bet that they would have discover that without those outrageously low taxes. Because we have given so much money to the oil companies over the years we only have $60 billion in our permanent fund. Norway has almost $1 trillion In their sovereign wealth fund, because they didn't have to pay the all companies outrageous amounts of money in return for getting their oil out.
