Hello,

I have been following both ORTEL and HLIT for a few years. Although I think ORTEL is a better long term buy/hold, HLIT has better 6 month potential.

Ortel is positioned in 4 key areas: WDM, Wireless, HFC, and Satellites, while HLIT is only HFC.

However, if Business Week is correct, 1998 is the year of Cable. Based on TCI buying 15 million digital set top boxes, HFC should have a good year. The latest issue of BW has 2 pages on why Cable is the place to invest. I like HLIT because they are at the bottom and have the greatest upside potential.
