Price of the retail CE player is the only thing holding DVD back from becoming a buz word. Thats why the PC-DVD is the leader for now and the same reason the upgrade market (via Creav DXr2) will do well the next few quarters IMO.

BTW.. Monkey Wards has 4 different models of DVD, even a JVC one.

Divx is getting very negative press even now. I expect it will get more when it finally arrives. My prediction (the only one I'm fairly confident about) is that Divx will sputter and fail, and we can get on with the DVD revolution. The wholesale migration to DVD will begin when the recording versions reach mass-market prices.
