Arnold~My money for unfairly beaten stocks is on ATML and GLBL.

Atmel has traditionally had strong Januarys going into earnings. A glance at charts will confirm this. Plus, Atmel's Japanese business is more essential to Japan than to Atmel. Hopefully they have learned some currency hedging tricks from CPQ's example in last year, which should serve them well now. Indications are that their European business is expanding to take up any slack. Finally, this is the first quarter in memory where cautious Atmel has NOT pre-announced with some minor concern. There is still time before Jan. 15 of course, but I view this as an extrordinary development. If forward look is at all encouraging, Atmel at 30 by Feb. 1 is not unreasonable.

Global's sector has best prospect of any to match remarkable eps results of last quarter, IMO. It's a smaller player, but I don't believe the 'street' has fully recognized the huge size of a multi-year contract that GLBL received in early December. One of our analyst experts will surely 'discover' that fact before long.

We all love to see companies succeed, of course, but I am most interested in your focus on the short side presently. Keep up the good work.

Regards,

Rick
