It's odd, isn't it? My guess (still too lazy to go to the dictionary) is that "wrought" as a form of, um, some verb or other is generally archaic, and only used today in specific phrases. Or perhaps not.

I guess it's hard to start at the bottom and go through all the responses on this thread. It's exciting to see so much interest on it. After I stumbled upon the thread sometime around Dec 21, I posted a few comments then waited for days and saw no action, so this is encouraging.
