Microsoft to invest $1 bln in TCI , report says Shares of cable television giant Tele-Communications Inc. bounced up 4 percent on a report Microsoft Corp. will invest $1 billion in the company. An analyst with Giga Information Group told Bloomberg News that Microsoft will make the announcement at the Consumer Electronics Show next week in Las Vegas. The investment will contribute to the development of Web TV. Shares of Tele-Communications Inc. rose 1 1/16 to 29. Microsoft gained 1 1/2 to 130 3/4. cbs.marketwatch.com
