CMTL - I usually don't have such a hard time making a decision. I guess I expected too much too soon, but
was highly disappointed with their earnings guidance. I think they have nice growth somewhere in their future,
but when I added things up right now, I decided to step aside.

Forward PE of 35, "the Company expects to report an operating loss in the first quarter", and a dividend cut
would probably be best for the company.

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (CMTL)

Stock traded xdiv today (by $0.30/share). It looks like a lot of investors exited the position after collecting their dividend. Stock traded over 4x it's Average Daily Volume. It was off 3.95% and if you figure a 50% cut in their dividend to $0.60/share, it is yielding 5.7%.

These always overshoot and the rumored dividend cut could be more. My plan is to buy a few more shares once the announcement is made. We know that the next two quarters will be soft so stock could fall further.

This is now a value play and not a dividend growth play, so Buyer beware.

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (CMTL) - still getting contract renewals; 10.4% div yield

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. Announces Location-Based Solutions Contract Renewal Worth $2.8 Million

Still cautious w/ this as possible dividend cut may/could be announced this month. I did Buy shares at lower cost so can sell high priced shares as stock moves higher. You could see Trump effect on any proposed tax cut and possibly new Homeland Security contracts.

FWIW, this contract provides their Xypoint® Mobile Positioning Center to route location information from the wireless operator’s CDMA network to applications. it's a bit creepy as you need this infrastructure to track your every location.

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (CMTL) - dividend cut to $0.10/quarter from $0.30/quarter

Yield is 3.2% now based on a stock price of $12.75/share.

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. Announces Results for First Quarter of Fiscal 2017 and Confirms Its Fiscal 2017 Guidance

Comtech Telecommunications (NASDAQ: CMTL): FQ1 EPS of -$0.11 may not be comparable to consensus of -$0.16. (beats by $0.05)

Revenue of $135.8M (+111.8% Y/Y) misses by $3.3M

Company is still working through it's acquisition. Their dividend cut was a bit more than I expected (looking for a 50% cut to yield 5%). One of the positive items is they pay taxes at a 32% rate and if/when the Trump tax rate is approved, that may/could go down to a 15% rate.

Still a small position and I like the sector. Will hold for now. Stock did rally into the close to $12.75/share on 1.86x ADV but I see an after hour trade of $11.80/share. International sales are expected to remain soft but they still have quite a big backlog of orders ($461mln) an expect a slight improvement in 2017 operating margins.
