Like I said.

Russia has been pushing the envelope. Because of the nukes, there has been a tendency to not push back. But sooner or later, Russia is going to push too hard.

I think a shooting war is not very likely. Although Russia seems to be preparing for that. About the only thing I can think of that would prompt that is if Putin decides to "rescue" a Russian speaking population in Poland or the Baltics.

That might do it.

My ideal solution would be for the US and the West to go after the Russian oligarch funds and other properties that are hidden under layers of shell corporations and impound them. This likely won't happen because that would scoop up a lot of wealthy Westerners.

Which wouldn't be a bad thing, imho.
