You are talking to someone who has constantly advocated trade high schools and a system that is a lot less college loaded. I don't want trade wars, so I think the whole anti-open boarders things has to be handled very very delicately. American consumers would be shocked by the prices that would hit our markets were protectionism to become something our government pursued with vigor. If you were to look back, you'd see I saw this problem coming years and years ago- I've been writing about it since I joined SI. It's not rocket science, but the path forward could be painful.
