In 2012 the D's had an incumbent, so no party infighting. In 2016 the Sanders supporters even before the WikiLeaks disclosures (and there will be more every day, 5 days a week) were not as loyal as that "segment" from 2012. They could vote 3rd or 4th party or Trump.
