Jack,
Sankar had simply asked me to name a blue chipper on the KLSE as a representative of a quality stock at very depressed pricing. I chose Sime Darby for the reasons stated in my previous post. Further: the company is very representative of the kind of post colonial holding company whose conglomerated growth tracks the region's growth. My wife was employed at Sime Darby many years ago and has told me a bit about the early days. For example, the unit she worked for was the exclusive Apple dealer in the region, back when computers were very very novel here. There are wonderful stories of the ground breaking corporate movements in those days. For example, Sime darby brought the conceptual "Outward Bound" program to Malaysia., primarily for corporate training purposes. It is now a fixture in motivational training in the area. Anyway, what more did you want to know? If you wish to read the latest finacials you may get them, and any listed KLSE company, from the following link.

Good Luck and
Best,
Stitch
