A question .... I wonder if anyone can help me with ....

Do you know how to get S&P500 annual earnings going back in history...
I'm interested in say 1978-96 to do some pe calcs

..e.g. in 96 S&P500 earnings were $40.50 and est. in 97 was $45...
projections for 98 are 48.50.

Can you help? Just a pointer on where to find this would be v. helpful.
Thanks, Cooksbay
