You are correct.

I just visited the Dell website and you are correct. It looks like Dell probably gets a better volume discount on add ins and then passes the savings on to the customer. Do you think Dell will do some direct advertising comparing itself to CompUSA? It wouldn't hurt.

all this discussion of a COMPUSA box is a bunch of hooey.
the teir 1 players will hand compusa their head on a platter.
this compusa idea could only work if pc growth was 20-25% next yr. and with it being 15% and 5-10 tier 3 pc mfg'ers going broke.
Compusa doesn't stand a chance.
Intel couldn't even make a pc ..their pc divsion went broke.
other dealers have tried this too..their pc's lost money.
