There is a very good article on Barron this week about the war between Sun and MSFT. It sheds a lot of light on what Sun is trying to do. If confirms my view as my posts on the SGI threads showed in the last few months. It also has a very good explanation for what NCR did with Sun. I would go one step further to speculate once the transition to software is completed, Sun will have no hesitation to part with its hardware business (this is totally my own view and it has no connections to anything internally discussed at Sun). -Al
