The 1/4 Tampa paper had an article on YEAR 2000 stocks in which they quote Gartner as saying only 35% OF Y2K firms have met their internal revenue forecasts. This comment is reinforced by a comment by my family source that price competition is fierce. Don't be surprised IF some of your favorite Y2K stocks miss analyst earnings forecasts for the December quarter. This will be particularly true for firms who build up infrastructure for business they expected which has slid into 1998. It will be very important to check the earnings versus the analyst forecasts for the early stocks reporting results. Would anyone following a stock whose results are due out in January publish the date they expect earnings.
