Janice: I can imagine how inane that would be. I detest dubbed movies. You know they are changing the dialog to fit the lip movements with predictably ridiculous results. I was in Geneva a few years ago and saw an American movie dubbed into French. It was a modern version of Sartre's La peste. Interesting to be in that position. Speaking of that novel, I found at the beginning of the book a quote from Daniel Defoe (translated into French), and I thought it would be interesting to translate it back into English, then get DeFoe's original and compare it with my rendition. It took forever to find the English Defoe, but I did, and it was fun to compare. Anthony Burgess (of Clockwork Orange fame) wrote a piece once about his doing the same thing with a English poets work which he had discovered in the Italian translation. Games! Jack
