To all,

As a new CS investor/speculator (I'm not sure which yet - Ben Graham would not be proud) as of mid-December, I have been pleased by the recent accumulation in the stock. I noticed that CS even made a "bounce" list that was mentioned in the WSJ Heard on the Street column back in December.

I guess anyone can put a technically oversold stock on a list and convince people that it is due for a turnaround (rubberband effect). My opinion is that the sell-off in CS during the second half of December down to near 13 was probably tax selling prompted by the big tumble earlier. Now the "January effect" may be trying to give CS the "bounce" that the longs desire. I am hopeful that CS found a floor near 13 and there will be more moves like today's of +3/4. The fundamentals are appealing on a historical basis - price/book value and price/sales < 2. The Motley Fool take a few weeks back on CS was not too upbeat (to put it modestly); yet, I feel a bounce is in order - even if only a technical one. The analyst coverage is not overwhelmingly favorable but in my opinion this just shows that there is room for improvement.
