Thanks for your clarification. I'm in complete agreement with you that stadia sounds stuffy. Language, like corn, is malleable&#151we call it maize. Some rules should never change&#151I should not put a period here. because it is quite awkward and leaves you wondering whether I'm an imbecile or not. To alleviate confusion, I'll put it here. Ain't still ain't acceptable to me neither, either.
Rules aren't just the law (the laws?), they're (their existence is) a good idea.

But I'm holding a 12&#150page spreadsheet in front of my 20&#150something employee and saying, &#147This data is unacceptable.&#148 I'm telling him that the batch is botched&#151the whole isn't worth a hole. Having an open mind, I always consider that I may be misunderstanding your point. Sorry to beat this horse beyond submission.
