Turning the Senate and perhaps the House blue was part of the plan all along too.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is calling for term limits on members of Congress even though his party currently controls both the House of Representatives and the Senate. Voters agree more strongly than ever with the need for term limits but also still doubt Congress will go along with them.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 74% of Likely U.S. Voters favor establishing term limits for all members of Congress. Just 13% are opposed, while just as many (13%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted on October 20 and 23, 2016 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
