Carl, as you may have read in some of my previous posts, I have other long portfolios where my definition of "buy and hold" means holding for years, I have holdings that are 30 years old. What we discuss on this thread is my trading portfolio and it is a hedged long/short portfolio and short term is sometimes measured in hours. (Of course my long term portfolios are also a hedge against these shorts). At the moment there are only a few longs in my trading portfolio, the larger being MSFT and a portion of my BROC holdings.

I am very bearish short term and took profit on part of my MSFT long holdings today, bought some long BROC, and increased my short positions. I will be taking an increasingly bearish stance if the market goes higher. I have been known to short MSFT and INTC, but only for a few days at a time. I am long term bullish on both.

I have also learned to quickly admit it and change direction when I am proven wrong.
