Hi Zeev; I was on the MB thread back in july, and she was called
down. Mike had predicted it for a long time. I had limited money
and picked MUEI to buy puts on. The premium was cheaper and I
figured she would sink as well. But all that's history and I'm
not to intrested in them now. Software is getting it's butt
kicked, ( to many players in the field )ORCL allready had her
butt kicked and can't seem to get up. Look at SSW JDAS
INFM & BMS, if I could I'd short all four of them, but I don't
want to cash in my bonds to get my account up enough to do
it.
Bonds are often over looked or be-littled but if you get
in at the right time they can be real winners.
I don't consider this the right time to get in, but
I don't want to get out either, I'v got some good
fixed rates locked in as long as the U.S. gov. don't
fail. I do have some coming due before long, I'm looking
at FAX but it's not low enough yet maybe it will be by the
time I'm ready.
-------------------------
I think AR is not a bad long right now it may take awhile before
she gets back up, but most of her downside is over.
----------------------------
Looking for some utilities to get hit before to much longer
cheap oil and low interest rates have them at all time highs
but deregulation is going to cause price wars and cut profit
margins..and if the bond market turns around too..then they
will get creamed.
It seems to me utilities are the last to fall in a bear market,
and the last to come back too.
---------------------------------
I'm also thinking hard about sinking some wells right here
locally and getting myself into the water business, every one
has gone to buying bottled water to drink around here
( since DOW put the the local politians in their pocket) And help create a water athority which buys ( DOWS poluted pond water ) and sells it to all the local cities..what a mess.
There is good water under the ground here. I Should have moved on
this some time ago. If I do I'l liklely say good by to the stock
market and focas on making my thingy work.
This market thingy takes to much time to keep up with for a
small fry like me. I'v learned how to call some fair shots but don't have enough dough to sink into them to really make enough to pay for the time I have to put in to do it.
I still go out on the boats from time to time and that puts
a big kink in my market timing, also I make more sailing than I can
hope to make in the market, so I'm about ready to stop
competing with the big boys and just do my own thing.
By the end of Jan I'm subject to be in a fund or two,
and turn this picking stocks thing lose.

I'v been looking at webs latley too, and may try some CF if
she comes back down and makes a double bottom. I jumped in
CEF a couple weeks ago but lost my nerve and jumped back
out, and after the fact I also liked CF better than CEF,
CF has more volume and appears more liquid.
They both are closed end Korean funds, but any bets
on Korea are still in the high risk/reward frame, and all
I have is a hunch that the IMF is not going to let her
go under.
