Rod, these reports are cullings of all user experiences. It is a well known phenomenon that people with bad experiences are much more likely to sound off than those with good ones, especially on complaint-oriented usegrps.

I am about to deinstall a two month old NEC CDROM that disabled my WIN95 HD drivers from the getgo. NEC doesn't even support their own drives. I am just SOL on that purchase since I spent too long trying to make it work properly.

I bought a Maxtor 7.0 GB HD a few months ago. Guess what? It would not work as a boot drive unless I used their MBR pgm. I took it back and have since bought both WDC and IBM 6.4 GB HDs, both of which boot just fine without MBR pgms on my Win95 OSR2 system.

Rod, sometimes with hardware, shit happens. Even to IOM. But you have not supported your claim that IOM is experiencing a greater percentage of failures than any other removable media, or any other piece of hardware for that matter.

>> In fact, the problem is poor quality hardware,<<

Sorry ! Rod, can't let you get away with this one, the fact is
that you don't know the facts.

I've sold hundreds of these drives with only one failure.

At that Iomega was professional enough to cross ship
a replacement drive with a very minimal delay.

Some people really like to spread it around don't they.
