In normal parlance "generally speaking" is considered a truism. I would agree with that if you said it. You didn't say that. You said this: "You are loony. Everything combjelly posts is correct" Are we now to assume that EVERYTHING that you say is now qualified with an automatic "generally speaking" , and overrides the word "everything"? What a great idea.....I betcha I can come with some better and more slippery uses of your new rule to s'plain away everything.
