Michelle Obama joined the Hillary campaign to explain, “If a candidate regularly and flippantly makes cruel and insulting comments about women…that’s who that candidate really is.” Hillary herself tweeted, “A man who bullies and shames a woman for her weight should never become president.” Now, it’s true that Trump routinely makes gross comments about women. But the Democrats’ high-horse attitude about sexism is galling, to say the least. Let’s take a brief trip down memory lane. JFK, ultimate Democratic hero, was a disgusting pig with women. According to Mimi Alford, 19 years old when JFK went after her, “Could I have done anything to resist President Kennedy? I doubt it: once we were alone in his wife’s bedroom, he’d manouevered me so swiftly and unexpectedly, and with such authority and strength, that, short of screaming, I don’t think anything would have thwarted his intentions.” He then told Alford to perform oral sex on Dave Powers, JFK’s special assistant. He also told her to pleasure Teddy. That’s just the tip of the JFK iceberg. Hillary Clinton has praised LBJ fulsomely in the past. LBJ was not merely a disgusting racist (he commonly used the n-word), he was a massive woman-hater. According to a Michael Shelden review of Robert Caro’s massive Johnson biography: Women were for sex and servitude…At his Senate office, his female workers were fondled, ogled and overworked. Though his own figure was flabby, he was quick to berate any of his ‘girls’ who put on weight. He wanted to make sure the view was good when they walked away from his desk. ‘I don’t want to look at an Aunt Minnie. I want to look at a good, trim back end.’ He boasted of his sexual prowess and had long affairs with at least two women, as well as casual flings with members of his staff. Bill Clinton (and Hillary). Bill Clinton allegedly raped one woman – and his wife, Hillary, allegedly intimidated her. Clinton sexually harassed a bevy of others, and Hillary allegedly ran a “war room” to fight “bimbo eruptions.” She referred to Gennifer Flowers as “trailer trash.” She called Monica Lewinsky a “narcissistic loony toon.” But hey, folks – anybody who makes cruel and insulting comments about women shouldn’t be president. By the way, the Obama White House has been rocked by charges of sexism, too. Christina Romer, former head of Obama’s Council of Economic Advisors, said she “felt like a piece of meat” while working in the Obama White House.” Anita Dunn, former White House communications director, said the Obama White House “actually fit all of the classic legal requirements for a genuinely hostile workplace to women.” Obama spent his presidency golfing with men, as Katie Pavlich points out in her book. As I’ve pointed out, “they did it too” isn’t a good excuse for sexism. But Hillary’s now applying a standard: if you’ve ever done anything sexist to a woman, or said anything nasty to a woman publicly, you can’t be president.
