NW, you would have a C: drive( new hard drive you buy) and then your old dirve would become the D: dirve on the same pc.
you could access just like any other drive.
BUt, it's one wondows system that accesses both drives.
not 2 windows systems.
take your pc to a dealer, they know what to do.
it wouldn't hurt to see what they charge for upgraded processer.
but, stop at that.
Clean sweep is like $30. buy it
clean sweep is rated the best...
ahead of Norton.
I'm not talking theory here like jim does..
I've done the above twice with great success.
I've also had no trouble with compression.
be sure and defrag after you do everything

Off Topic:
You can delete all of those .gid files. They are created as a temp file when you use the help system, or run a .hlp file.

As far as using CleenSweep vs. WinDelete, they will both give you the same warning that you are getting. If you are considering removing those orphaned DLLs, please consider making a special backup of those DLLs. Once they are removed, if you run into any problems Windows95 will tell you which DLL is missing. You can then retrieve it from the backup without having to reinstall any of the applications. If the DLL is an OLE DLL, you will have to register it using regsvr32.exe. I have yet to have any problems removing orphaned DLLs, but I am also a software developer and have a little deeper knowledge about this stuff.

Maxtors are also great drive with good warranties, <10ms access, great prices, and some models with rebates. I have a several Maxtors, a Quantam, Western Digital, and a Seagate external drive. The only one I have had a problem with is the Western Digital 1.6GB, which was a bad lot and was replace by the manufacturer.

GOOD LUCK!
