Once again, thanks for the work you have done for this thread.

***1 Stock 1 week*** I want to stick with SHVA for one more week. SHVA long 1/5/98

The reason - I think January effect will remain the primary driving force of the market next week. Some stocks are pushed to unrealistic low level by tax selling and fear. Shiva is definitely among one of those. The stock was trading around 14 in Oct 97. I won't be surprised if SHVA bounces back to low teens in the next few weeks.

*** 1 STOCK - 1 WEEK *** SHORT NETA OPEN 1-5-98

ML(Dec30-)...Fourth Quarter preview..as the anxiety over the merger subsides we would expect the stock performance to improve markedly.....NETA remains significantly undervalued trading at only 21x '98 EPS of $2.45

4Q in very good shape with our estimates of $170M and .48!
No ASIA impact expected!!!Asian market underpenetrated and market share gains are a major opportunity...

I think a P/E of 21 is too high, No asian exposure to speak off so no growth, competition comming out of the wood works..

<*** 1 STOCK - 1 WEEK *** > LONG

LGWX - Staying with last weeks pick, Morgan Stanley conference should give the stock a boost. Wall Street has been waiting for earnings stability, three straight quarters of earnings and revenue growth with a fourth to be reported the third Tuesday of January.

Earnings going back to 1992 are as follows:

1992 - .01
1993 - .05
1994 - .08
1995 - .13
1996 - (.27)
1997 - .18 , 4th quarter estimated at .12
.30

Wall Street does not like glitches like 1996, but few start up companies are perfect the first ten years. Company incorporated in 1988. The unwritten rule says it takes ten years for a new company to start making an impact, guess what, 1998 is the tenth year.

If LGWX was a sure thing the stock would not be at $8.00, but people do bet on the future and the future looks bright. This quarter is critical in the eyes of the street, hence the price of the stock, all that could change in the next 3 weeks.

I hope I'm right.

See ya!

*** 1 STOCK - 1 WEEK *** LONG AAPL @ open

Just taking advantage of the run up prior to Mac World Expo. Lots of rumors, and lots of potential for real news. Like partnerships with Microsoft or the announcemnt of production of Intel PCs. Plus Macs Rule.

***1 Stock 1 Week *** I'll take CELL (long) next week). It's just a matter of time before the terms of a huge contract are announced. It is down almost 50% on Asian fears, even though 75% of its Asian business is to the Chinese government.

Should have a strong pre-earnings runup after successful test of the bottom last week.

**ONE STOCK - ONE WEEK**ZITL LONG OPEN 1/5

I read the chart differently from Alan - but I agree Friday may have been a short-covering pop.

If I was doing this in the real world I'd do a covered write. The calls are expensive.
