Good morning, Michael!

I sent the URL to CW-just to keep him humble-not that it will work.
Did you read the bio? His father is a University Computer Science prof and let him sit in on an introductory course when he was in the third grade. When the talents of a child and the resources of a parent converge like that, wonderful things happen. But it does make me sad for all the children with gifts which are never encouraged or developed, whose parents have neither the education themselves or the interest in that particular field to give proper impetus to the development. It also brings up something we've mentioned before about how much a child should be pushed or directed.

CW has been written up a couple of times in local papers. I think they try to support young people, and a couple of adults in the field even called him afterward just to encourage him and offer help, something I found exceptionally touching. We probably could all be more appreciative of the youth around us; it means a lot when an adult other than a parent takes time. Both Freddy and Zin have spent time with CW online, and they need to know how wonderful it is for CW. They treat him with respect and a lack of condescension that is wonderful. I'm grateful because they are so knowledgeable in areas I'm not and a bright 16 has a lot of questions about life. Luckily, these are both men in whom I have a lot of trust!

THis has been an interesting holiday weekend and I think I'm going to write about my thoughts on some things that have happened later. Maybe.
