They have built their own reality where facts are just reality's opinion and all opinions are equal. So when you point out they have their facts wrong, they answer with a straight face "that is your opinion". Because they actually believe that. I guess it is empowering to some extent when you can live in a delusion of your own making. They seem to enjoy it. As I have pointed out before, Dunning-Kruger has their number.
