The Wall Street Week stock picking contest covers the entire year, so Ralph Acampora's TDW short is a long-term position. Acampora predicted a 1998 DJIA high of 8,600, low of 6,000, and finish of 7,300.

Acampora has been one of the foremost market bulls for the last few years, and just recently turned bearish as a result of the Asia situation. I have a lot of respect for him, and I own TDW so I am concerned. I have no idea why he singled out that particular oil service stock. But if the DJIA declines to 6,000 as he predicts, I doubt many sectors will be spared.
