Safeskin is benefitting from the weaker far easter currency situation. One thing that increases the risk profile of safeskin is the nature of the institutional holders. The big holders are momentum players. Such institutions place little emphasis on valuation and continue to hold the stock as long as "it's working", and/or as long as there are no problems. The holders will tend to try to bail out at the same time at the first sign of any problem. Because of the volatility such an investor base creates, one thing some insitutions do is to examine who the holders are of a stock prior to purchase. For example, there are funds who will not get involved with a stock if it is heavily owned by the likes of a Pilgrim Baxter and other firms. - taken from 1st hand knowledge.
