This is what I'm worried about, folks:

08:43 ET Scopus Technology (SCOP) 12 15/16: Help-desk software concern says it expects to report earnings of $0.06-$0.08 a share. According to the Zacks estimate, SCOP was forecast to earn $0.08. Puts revenues at about $24 mln.

08:40 ET Forte Software (FRTE) 7 1/2: Issue indicated another 33% lower at $5, after company said delays in N. America and a decline in Asian revenues will cause it to report a Q3 shortfall. Expects to report a loss of $0.25-$0.32. Analysts were anticipating a loss of only a penny.

08:35 ET Netscape Communications Co. (NSCP) 23 3/8: Issue indicated 4 3/8 pts lower on news the company expects to miss its qtr, and by a mile. For the period, company sees a loss of $0.15-$0.19 a share. For the period, company was expected to earn $0.14 a share. Cites competitive pressures. Says will layoff employees and close facilities.

08:30 ET Stock Indications: Current level on the S&P futures indicate a slightly higher open on the Dow of approx. 5-10 pts. The big news this morning, however, is the myriad of tech companies issuing warnings. The biggy is Netscape. Stk is indicated 4 3/8 pts lower. Also warning are Scopus (SCOP) and Forte (FRTE).
