You are assuming that everyone who voted for Clinton would have voted for Bernie too. I'm not so sure about that.

At any rate, these counter-factuals are fun sometimes but they are also impossible to prove.

Trump voters are incompatible with Sanders. As far apart as two candidates could be.

Trump thinks climate change is a myth and will get out of related treaties..
Trump shames and objectifies women.
Trump says he will ban gun free zones, like public schools.
Trump wants to LOWER taxes for the wealthy.
Trump wants to "bomb the shit" out of his enemies.
Trump thought Black Lives Matter murdered police.
Trump wants MORE deregulation of banks, a partisan Federal Reserve Bank and SCOTUS, and he wants less environmental regulation of fossil fuels, especially coal.
Trump gropes women, and robs suckers including the IRS, because he is so smart.

The people who wanted Trump were not going to vote for Sanders. They are the neo Tea Party. They are the followers of Ted Nugent, not Joan Baez or James Taylor.

A few voted for Johnson.

Retired women seniors were not attracted to Sanders the way you and I were. They are scared of the tax bogeyman.

Bernie Sanders is hardly a candidate of "whitelash" that fueld Trump's base.

Do you ever listen to right wing media? The Republicans played Bernie against Clinton because they wanted to run against Sanders. To each other, they smeared him up as a communist who shuns Christianity and murders babies. Republicans go at you with machine guns; playing on the people's massive fears of the big government. (Which we know is bullshit and hypocritical; but it works.)

Yes, excellent critical thinking

If Hillary would have gotten more votes she would have won

especially if she had gotten a certain more number of votes needed to win then she would have won

If only Trump voters didn't vote for Trump

If only the sky weren't blue

If only Hillary wasn't a corrupt racist criminal

I thought he looked insane, and his rantings turned me off. Other women I know felt the same way. I would have voted anyway, but I know a lot of my friends would have just stayed home- when faced with two demagogues. But thank you for telling me I'm short on critical thinking- that's always a swell way to convince someone you are right (and is a bit short on critical thinking, itself, ironically- why not just do some more obvious kind of name calling?)

Your reply is very short on critical thinking. If only 1 in 100 Trump voters had voted for Hillary, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Florida flip back to Clinton, giving her a total of 307 electoral votes. I am willing to bet that 1% of Trump voters would have found Sanders more appealing than Trump and black voters would have still voted the same as they did.

Never helps your argument to start by personally attacking the other person. On the substance of the argument, I disagree. Sanders would have been, to restate myself, severely beaten up as a "commie", a term that still carries too much weight. As for your notion about the black vote, Sanders simply did not have the long history with the black community Clinton did. He would have done remarkably worse. At least on the turnout score.
