Great thread idea Bcb, and Marcos' URL's are great. Thanx.

I'm very long on USEG--mainly because I was in on Anaconda's Green Mountain WY discovery in the mid '70's and hope to live long enough to see it become a mine someday. Grades of up to 3% eU3O8 and decent volumes (I recollect volumes of +25 million pounds) at depths beneath 600 metres.

I also did some in-situ work (late '70's) mainly in the Live Oak and Beeville areas of Texas. I was not too impressed then with the in-situ technology (it was IMNSHO "hyped" even then as eco-friendly), but our recoveries were not very good and the project was only marginally economic. Miocene shale beds above/below the U-mineralization did not "seal" as well as hoped, and un-anticipated down-to-coast "growth-faulting" caused my geologists and chemical engineers to swear a lot <grin>.

Hopefully, URIX has solved most of the in situ problems which plagued us in S. Texas.

Good Luck, T.
