The computer IS addicting. There was a thread, in fact, about how addicting it is right here at SI, but I thought it was quite a lot like holding an AA meeting in a bar!

Incidentally, the Reginald Denny verdict discussion brings up something I have been wondering about. Since we now have crime victims talking in court about how much they were hurt during the sentencing phase of trials, and it seems to be bringing in tougher sentences, what happens when the victim is pleading for mercy and compassion instead? Are sentences getting lighter when this happens?
