Most folks who believe in "science" are still locked into the science at the time they were in High School and/or College. Many of us learned in arithmetic/geometry and even introductory physics curriculum, there are immutable truths - and you build models on the absolute natural law facts.

Today we see things in a probabilistic and sometimes an intuitively "weird" manner. The theoretical is not snickered at.

SO MUCH has happened in astrophysics, in behavioral sciences too including the overlaps into what has become the school of behavioral economics. And molecular biology has been the closer for evolution.

Pluto's out. Martian life is in play. Climate cooling hypotheses were disproven / climate warming is not just a "theory."

Multiverses, particle physics including "dark matter" and anti matter, understanding and factoring cognitive biases, and our brains struggles with randomness would not have been understood in 1960.

I know there is a whole lot I don't know.

We used to post mindblowing science news here. I miss that.
