Troy - No problem. That is why I asked. There goes 15%, but as long as we are all on the same wave length. Now I have to look for choice # 2. Thanks for your effort on all our behalf. Greg

One Stock One Week
Long ENCD Encad - Open 1/5
Down from high 30s to 26 on no company specific news, growing consistently at 30%, effects recently due to EFII troubles, no connection that I am aware of. Catching a falling knife in this case, is OK for the contest, not for my money. I also like PWAV for those who may be interested.

***One Stock One Week**** Short Gadzooks (GADZ) at Monday's open. Could be a 20% loser over next two weeks. Bollinger bands on price are pinched/narrow (actually they are not going to get any narrower using bollinger bands on bollinger band width), the 12 day moving average/trend is sharply down and its overbought on 5 day stochastics. Momentum has definitly slowed. It dropped $0.50 on Friday to start the slide. The oil services sector also has plenty of shorting potential with the same characteristics as GADZ, including Falcon Drilling, Global Marine, Varco, Halliburton, and Marine Drilling. Other potential plays lie in Westell, Telsay, Symantec (Real Good), Zitel, Qualcomm, Pacific Sunwear, P-Com, Netscape, Oracle, Cisco, Infoseek, Global Ind, Enso, Cirrus Logic, Centorcor and Comp USA. Some are better than others. Good luck to all.

one stock one week *****ceph***
i have had this one for a while now and am about even. with their approval of provigal and tax selling over, and prospects looking good for another drug, this one looks poised for a recovery. chart looks good and could be a breakout soon.
hope everyone did well over the holidays. seems my short (nke) and all my longs did pretty well. glad to see i was right about gold and i still think that long term it will continue to climb.

One stock, one week - IBM long I expect it to outperform the DOW and to rise to $110 to $115 by Jan 16. Not anything to win the weekly game, but the only thing I feel comfortable with at the moment. I haven't given up on APM. In another week, I will probably be asking for it again, but this week, I just can't figure it out.

*** 1 STOCK 1 WEEK *** PAIR long open 1-5-98

I think Friday was a reversal for PAIR (this remains to be seen though) there have been a couple favorable articles out recently, among them one that has PAIR on its top ten list of stocks to benefit from the January effect.

PS SCOP has reported better than expected preliminary revenues....EPS still looks flat, probably from merger charges. This one could bear watching.
