It is understandable that some people on the left are feeling the need to lash out as a way of dealing with loss they were obviously not prepared for.

When they get this out of their systems, there are a lot of questions they need to be asking themselves about what just happened. Then they need to figure out where their base is, is it centrist or progressive? Are they going to continue to position themselves in a manner that attempts to sync up with popular appeal; or, are they going to form solid positions based on liberal principle, positions that transcend time and circumstance?

Maybe on Epicure's thread, I don't see it happening here. I'm not welcome there so ... somebody else.
