The Dual Mode "Q" phone will not be available from Sprint. It will run on the 800 Mhz (Cellular) frequencies only. SprintPCS will not sell it, as their network is 1900 Mhz (PCS).

The QCP-2700 is a Dual Band phone which runs on 2 frequencies, 800 & 1900. To my knowledge, QCOM is not working on a Dual Band "Q" phone. Adding an additional Band is like putting two phones in one, and I don't believe there is enough room for that in the "Q" model.

Dual Mode - "Mode" refers to Anolog and Digital
Dual Band - "Band" refers to 800 Mhz & 1900 Mhz.

Good Luck to all.

Caxton,
Interesting note on the SF sales force. I had a similiar experience in San Diego yesterday. The sales lady at a mall knew about the dual mode phones, but said that they were not any good. She said that in order to fit the dual mode in, they had to sacrifice many features found on the digital only phones, then went on to say that if I needed analog, it would be better to go to an anolog only phone!!!
Are they really clueless or does Sprint not want to sell the dual mode phones for some reason? Perhaps the sales commission is not as good for the dual modes. Does anyone have any insight on this?
