>>I'm sick of this whole discussion. On Monday I am dumping my position in the mutual fund which may have shares in IOM.<<

Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater just yet. As I've said before, IOM tends to draw in newbie sucker investors around this time of year. We should be in for a couple of points upward movement between now and earnings. At the same time, get ready to dump your position at $15 (yes, I've revised my sell target downward 1 point), because this issue languishes as soon as earnings are announced. This happens every single time, and regular posters here start whining about "I thought earnings were good ??!!! Why is it going DOWN???"

The sad fact is that Iomega Corp. does things that are embarassing for the NYSE to be associated with. Witness Comdex.

Wonderful idea. Then you won't ever have to think of IOM again, except, starting sometime in the future, as you put Zip disks (the floppy replacement) into your PC.

And we won't have to sort through your nonsense posts any more. A real win-win situation.

<the reaction I received in bringing to light several important quality issues.>

Don't flatter yourself. We've heard the FUD/crud before, and we'll hear it again. There seems to be no shortage of your type in this world. Whether you have a Messiah complex or are just caught in your own vortex, you certainly have not made an original or even good faith contribution to the discussion of IOM.

Goodbye and good luck. You're going to need it.

RE: " I am sick of this whole discussion"

Rod,

I grow weary also. Based on what you have posted it appears you feel that everyone is ignoring "reality". On the contrary, they are very much aware of what is happening. You provided your own experience and they provided theirs. The question is which one is more reflective of the overall quality of IOM products.

The market success of the zip drive (i.e., sells) highly suggests that your experience is the exception to the rule. There have been too many products that didn't "cut the mustard" that have died quick deaths. Why would the zip or other IOM products be different? IOM's marketing machine -- its good, but not that good. Plus, OEMS would be dropping IOM products like a bad habit if they were getting numerous complaints. Finally, I am not saying that every product that leaves IOM's doors works perfectly. What I am saying is the level of "bad" units are no where near the level you would have everyone believe.

Good luck on your future endeavors,

John

Rod, glad to hear you'll be buzzing off Monday. Why not get a jump on things by quitting the thread NOW. BTW, bailing out of a fund just to get rid of those 4.183 shares you "own" sounds like a v. sophisticated investment strategy.
