If someone wants to do any serious short selling, it would be a good idea into looking into an account with Datek. I have never heard of them rejecting a short sell because of lack of shares (much to the dismay of AMZN and YHOO shortsellers), or of calling the shares in. $10/trade commissions sweeten the deal. I understand that they have trouble executing listed stock shortsells, so this may only work well with Nasdaq stocks, which is their specialty. No reason someone can't keep more than one account.
