We spent an entire summer exploring old mines all over Jalisco and Zacatecas. It was amazing to see the old Indian and later Spanish workings, these people were not afraid of heights. We wandered into a new mine and asked if we could take some samples for assay and they let us. I asked if we could wander down the main adit and they let us after the shift change. This would not happen at any mine in N. America but Mexicans just don't have the same concerns.

We went to an underground bar in Zacatecas via a modified ore-train
