Large companies like Lucent often take awhile to build consensus internally and generally analyze it to death. I think one of the fastest companies from the drawing board to actually acquiring another company is Cisco. I have known one or two acquisitions they have made within a 30 day period, including proper due diligence. Hal

I'm sure that LU knows this, and has known it. That being the case, certainly if they were going to act anytime soon, they would've done it already? Well, the rumor I heard from an employee of Lucent during Comdex was: They were buying a networker (Cisco,Coms,or ASND)and an announcement would come after the new year? I reported this conversation during Comdex back in November. Jeff
