For 100 years, it has been the Democrats that has been the party of the workers, and the downtrodden, the poor and middle class. It has been the Democratic party that has looked out for those in the spring of life, the winter of life and those that live in the shadows of life. It was the Democrats, that gave us Social Security and Medicare and so many other social programs that the people rely on. It has been the Democrats that have protected the common person, while the Republicans have represented the rich. And the grand irony now, is that the people most often in need of protection from the rich, have gone and emasculated the one group of people that have looked to protect them from abuse by the rich. They have just emasculated the Democratic party. We Democrats have no power left to stop any plutocratic excesses and watch what happens. The trick that the rich used to get the poor to support them, was to simply say"" look we are like you, we hate gays and we love God and guns". So vote for us. And then when they did vote for them, they went right in and destroyed their unions and lowered the wages and put them in a state of poverty. And yet those people never figured out what they were doing to themselves and kept voting them in year after year The shit storm on the horizon is terrifying, and the Democrats have no power left to prevent any of it. The voters in this last election stripped away all of the checks and balances that the people had against the rich and the plutocrats. Before this election, most people saw that we are operating more or less as a plutocratic oligarchy. And everybody is concerned about that. That is the swamp. But not only did they not vote for people to drain the swamp, they voted for people to give those plutocrats more power to control us than they have ever had. And they seem to have no awareness of this at all. They seem to have no awareness that they have just caused themselves great harm going forward like losing their health insurance, medicare and social security. Will they try to blame that on the dems to, even as the Republicans vote to eliminate those things and the Democrats vote to keep them? I wonder?
