IBD print edition (I believe Tuesdays) lists the number of funds holding a particular stock. I don't know how current the data is, how frequently it's updated or, for that matter, how I'd use it. I suspect that I'd lean toward it being a contrarian indicator. Nice chart in Barron's this week (Monday January 5th) showing the relative bullishness / bearishness of Sell Side analysts and the indication that their opinions are outstanding contrarian indicators. It appears obvious that if 80 -90% of the fund managers underperform the market, that it behooves one not to own what they do. :-) Have a good weekend, Ian.
