Tom, bonds have of course something to do with it. But more importantly Rubin has to be concerned about flood of cheap goods and not so cheap Nissan's but this time around he can not threaten Japan with quotas.. what kind of surprise Japanese have and do you think it will be a "surprise" for Rubin.. Yen has to strengthen and quickly

TOM: I'm not at all sure that cuts in short-term rates will inflate financial assets much at this point. Bonds have already priced in a 50 BP cut in Fed Funds.
